When we first launched the unit ‘Record’ we were told we could do two of the three things which were either Music Production, Design or Music Video.
We had to choose the two that you thought you’d excel in so what I chose to begin with was Music and Music video.
We recorded the song first with a man called Tom who taught us a lot about the way the music scene here at Stratford college works. I was really inspired by this part of the unit as it opened up hidden doors in the world of music production.
With Tom, we learnt and played/recorded the song “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” which many famous artists and bands have previously covered. We chose this song because it is a very simple and easy song to pick up and learn so that we, the band, didn’t have to worry about the complexity of a hard song.
I played the bass in the band which consisted of; Harvey on the drums, Claire did the backing vocals and played guitar and Oral did the same apart from she sang lead vocals. It was a great opportunity to discover everyone else’s talents in the Creative and Media group.

Once we had done the song we had to make a music video and CD cover to go with it.
